In the context of the war led by Israel and the waves of displacement affecting the Lebanese people from all regions, the "Beirut Marathon" association continues its humanitarian initiative to assist those displaced, particularly the families at the Al-Mustaqbal mixed public school, which houses 420 people of all ages. This shelter has become a model after the Beirut Marathon association provided all the conditions for a dignified stay for our displaced compatriots, ensuring essential needs for food, health, and medical care, as well as educational programs, sports sessions, and cultural and recreational activities 24/7, always in collaboration and partnership with numerous supporters through creative individual initiatives, both in Lebanon and abroad.
To ensure the continuity of this initiative and as the association's sports activities have been postponed, notably the "Beirut Marathon" scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024, due to the evolving security situation, the association has decided to organize a "virtual" running event in Lebanon and abroad, inviting widespread participation "for Lebanon and for hope." All registration fees and even donations will be directed to the association's aid campaign for the displaced.
Here are the conditions of the race:
1. The race will take place from November 1 to December 30, 2024, with the participation of 30 teams from 30 Arab and foreign countries worldwide.
2. Participants can choose their race distance: 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, or 5 km.
3. Each participant will receive a race t-shirt, a medal, and a personal number, which will be sent to international participants via DHL at no extra charge.
4. Registration for the race is done through the platform: beirutmarathon.org.
