As part of its development strategy aimed at raising the level of Lebanese athletics and preparing young athletes for upcoming national and international competitions, the Lebanese Athletics Federation continued its 2025 program by organizing a meeting on the track of Notre-Dame de Jamhour.
Six New National Records
The event was highlighted by outstanding performances from young athletes, with six national records broken across various age categories:
-Hassan Daoui (Inter Lebanon) – 120 m U12 boys: 16.59 s (previous record: 16.63 s – Ziad Chami).
-Eliana Moawad (Batroun Stars) – discus throw 600 g U14 girls: 34.52 m (previous record: 33.09 m – her own mark).
-Eliana Moawad (Batroun Stars) – hammer throw 2 kg U14 girls: 38.11 m (previous record: 32.18 m – Sai Hanna).
-Nazih Oueidat (Batroun Stars) – 200 m hurdles U16 boys: 26.28 s (previous record: 28.60 s – Charbel El Hezzouri).
-Zolal Bazgjian (Homenetmen Bourj Hammoud) – javelin throw 500 g U18 girls: 34.22 m (previous record: 31.58 m – Nesrine Moawad).
-Sama Mostafa (Jamhour) – 2000 m steeple U18 girls: 7:28.25 (previous record: 7:42.77 – her own).
Promising Performances From Emerging Talents
The standout athlete of the meeting was Eliana Moawad, who shone across multiple events, dominating three disciplines and breaking two national records.
Nazih Oueidat also impressed in the hurdles, while Sama Mostafa continued to push her limits in the steeplechase.
Clubs such as Batroun Stars, Inter Lebanon, Let’s Run, Jamhour, and Maristes Champville distinguished themselves through the progression and quality of their athletes across all disciplines: sprints, hurdles, throws, jumps, and relays.
A Wide Range of Events
The meeting brought together dozens of athletes competing in more than 25 events, including: 60 m, 80 m, 120 m, 150 m, 300 m, 800 m, 1000 m, 2000 m steeple, hurdles, long jump, shot put, javelin, discus, hammer, and relay races.
