Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has condemned the Israeli attack on journalists in Hasbaya on Friday, describing it as a "war crime."

"I have instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to add this new crime to the series of dossiers documenting Israeli crimes that will be submitted to the relevant international authorities, so that the world's conscience can stop what is happening," he announced in a statement released on Friday.

Israel has claimed responsibility for the attack on Hasbaya, which resulted in the deaths of three media professionals: Ghassan Najjar, a cameraman, and Mohammad Reda, a broadcast engineer, both working for the Al-Mayadeen TV channel, as well as Wissam Qassem, a cameraman for Al-Manar. Four other journalists were injured: Zakaria Fadel, Ali Mortada, Hassan Hoteit, and Elie Abou Assaly.

According to Mikati, "this deliberate aggression is certainly aimed at intimidating the media to conceal the ongoing crimes and destruction."
