St Charbel Honored in the Vatican, Bells to Ring on Friday
In the midst of the several crises and wars immersing Lebanon, an event in the Vatican in honor of Saint Charbel will instill hope and peace in the hearts of the Lebanese.

The honoring of Saint Charbel will take place at the Vatican in Rome on Friday.

In parallel, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rai has called for a moment of prayer, gratitude, and ringing of bells in Lebanon at 10:30 AM on Friday morning, coinciding with the unveiling of the mosaic of Saint Charbel in the Saint Peter's Basilica.

Lebanese Ambassador Farid Elias al-Khazen mentioned that the idea originated in 2019, with the self-conviction that there should be an honoring of Saint Charbel in the Vatican.

"The idea initially was to build a small church under the basilica, but there was not enough space. At that point, we moved on to the idea of raising a mosaic for Saint Charbel, designed by 'Fabbrica,' the specialized professional under the Vatican," noting that "His Holiness Pope Francis welcomed the idea, and a divine liturgy will be celebrated after the mosaic is unveiled,” he told the local radio station 'Voice of Lebanon.'
