3. Trump Invites Turkey's Erdogan to Join Gaza 'Board of Peace'

U.S. President Donald Trump has invited Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to join the so-called Board of Peace that will oversee post-war Gaza, Turkey said Saturday.

Erdogan received the proposal in a letter sent Friday by Trump inviting him to "become a founding member" of the board, Turkish presidential communications director Burhanettin Duran posted on social media.

The White House introduced the Board of Peace Executive Board, which will be responsible for developing a long-term strategic vision for Gaza. Officials stressed that the Executive Board is distinct from the Board of Peace, which will comprise heads of state. In the future, the Executive Board could be deployed in similar roles in other post-conflict regions.

Members of the Executive Board include U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, former UK prime minister Tony Blair, American investor Marc Rowan, World Bank president Ajay Banga and US deputy national security adviser Robert Gabriel Jr.

The White House said in a statement that each member would oversee a defined portfolio critical to Gaza's stabilisation, including governance capacity-building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment and large-scale capital funding.
