Israel launched a wave of intensive airstrikes on southern Lebanon overnight, targeting several Hezbollah facilities, including what the Israeli military described as a training and qualification compound used by the group’s elite Radwan Force.

Training Compound and Military Sites Targeted

In a statement, the Israeli army said the air force struck a “training and qualification compound” used by the Radwan Force to train its fighters and prepare operations “against Israeli forces and civilians.” According to the army, the site hosted drills involving firearms and various combat tools.

The military added that it also targeted several additional Hezbollah military buildings as well as a rocket-launch position in southern Lebanon, claiming these facilities were involved in operational planning against Israel.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichai Adraee said the targeted infrastructure, along with the ongoing military training inside the compound, constituted “a violation of the understandings between Lebanon and Israel and a threat to the State of Israel.” He emphasized that the Israeli military would “continue acting to remove any threat.”

Multiple Strikes Across the Region

Lebanese residents reported at least eight Israeli airstrikes on the heights of the southern region of Iqlim al-Tuffah, hitting areas around Jabal Safi, Wadi Roumine, Jbaa and Wadi Azzeh between the Nabatieh and Saida districts. The explosions were heard as far as the outskirts of Saida.

Local sources confirmed material damage in several areas, particularly around Jbaa, as Israeli aircraft continued to fly at low altitude over southern Lebanon through the night.
