Lynn el-Hajj kept her momentum going in Riyadh. Twenty-four hours after earning Lebanon its first medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games (a bronze in the 100m breaststroke, with a 1:10.90 final after a 1:10.66 heat), the swimmer returned to the pool for the 200m breaststroke and claimed a second bronze. In the final, she touched in 2:33.93, showing a clear improvement from her morning heats, completed in 2:42.97. A controlled start, a solid 100m split, and a mentally strong final 50m: El-Hajj secured third place in the home stretch without losing rhythm.

Riyadh, a Stage for Expression

The sixth edition of the Games, organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, confirms Riyadh’s status as a high-level stage for regional swimming. In this context, El-Hajj’s two podium finishes carry weight: they place Lebanon on the medal table and give momentum to a delegation looking to build day by day.Weightlifting: Lessons and Benchmarks

The Lebanese day also unfolded on the lifting platforms. In the −63 kg category, Alexa Mina finished 7th out of 10 competitors with 79 kg in the snatch, 100 kg in the clean and jerk, totaling 179 kg. In the −69 kg category, Mahassen Fattouh completed three clean and jerk attempts for a total of 114 kg, finishing 7th out of 9. Numbers that set the benchmark and leave room for progress in the next cycle.

What’s Next

Lebanon remains active in the pool and at the table. Lynn el-Hajj is expected to compete in the 50m breaststroke, while singles competitions in table tennis take over on the racket side. Objective: ride the momentum of the two podiums, secure qualifications, and stay within reach of the top contenders heading into the finals.

Lebanon’s Provisional Tally in Riyadh

Two medals for Lynn el-Hajj in two days — bronze in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke — a confidence booster and a clear marker on the Games’ landscape.
