It has no face. No body. And yet, it is everywhere.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has slipped into our phones, our cars, our medical diagnoses, our administrative decisions, our screens.
It simulates and executes.

So why do we still hesitate to look it straight in the eye?

Because it is abstract? Because we still think it’s meant only for engineers, researchers or world powers? Because we don’t fully understand it, and maybe it already understands us too well?
It sorts out our résumés, recommends our reading, tracks our every move.

So, it’s time to take the bull by the horns.

It’s time to move past indifference or passive fascination.
Artificial intelligence is neither a gadget nor a mere technological advance.
It is a political, economic and civilizational reality. A rupture with the old order.
It reshapes the balance of power, knowledge, professions and narratives. And it does so at a pace that our minds can barely keep up with.

This dossier focuses on a single topic: artificial intelligence.
Our aim is to take a clear and structured look at this world-shaping phenomenon.
We explore it from several perspectives to grasp what AI has already disrupted in our societies and the profound changes its presence entails.

Some texts look at the battlefield – in Gaza.
Others investigate the major diplomatic maneuvers triggered by AI, as well as the transformations and new paradigm it brings about.

Another text even questions the nature of romantic feelings in the age of algorithms.
All seek to answer the same question: what does it mean to be human in a world where intelligence can be programmed?

And to come full circle, we let an artificial intelligence write one of the articles in the dossier – without instructions, without guardrails. A bit like placing two mirrors facing each other…

This is neither a plea nor a condemnation. It is a call.
A wake-up call.
Because whether we are researchers or readers, citizens or business leaders, believers or skeptics, conservatives or progressives, one thing is certain: artificial intelligence won’t let us rest.
It is already shaping who we are becoming.

So, just as we once turned the page on the world before the Internet, let us now turn the page on the world without artificial intelligence.

All that remains is to read, or perhaps to write, the next page…
