
Lebanese actor and playwright Georges Khabbaz is taking part in the 32nd edition of the Hamburg International Film Festival in Germany with two major films in which he plays leading roles.
The first, A Thousand Secrets, a Thousand Dangers, directed by Oscar-nominated Canadian filmmaker Philippe Falardeau, was chosen as the festival’s opening film. Shot in French in Montreal and adapted from a story by writer Alain Farah, the film was also featured in the official competition at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The second film, Yunan, directed by Ameer Fakher Eldin and filmed in German in Hamburg, stars Khabbaz alongside European cinema legend Hanna Schygulla. The film premiered in the official competition at the Berlinale and went on to win nine awards at various international festivals, three of which recognized Georges Khabbaz as Best Leading Actor.
