An Israeli airstrike on Wednesday evening targeted a car near the al-Rida Mosque in Baalbeck, killing two people, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported.
Israeli Channel 15 reported that the strike targeted a Hezbollah member in the eastern Lebanese city. According to media outlets, the victims are two members of al-Radwan Force, Kamal Raad and Ali Shreif.
The attack followed a series of Israeli military operations along the southern border. Earlier in the day, Israeli forces fired an illumination shell near the towns of Mays al-Jabal and Hula, and, at dawn, demolished an uninhabited house on the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab.
Troops also conducted a sweep from the Ruwaisat al-Alam position toward Kfarchouba. Overnight, an Israeli drone dropped several stun grenades near a residential home in Aita al-Shaab.
Meanwhile, an Israeli drone was reported flying at a very low altitude over the town of Tefahta and surrounding areas.
