Lebanon condemned on Tuesday Israel’s military operation targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, denouncing it as a violation of international law and Qatari sovereignty.
In separate statements on social media, President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described the strikes as “an attack on the sovereignty of a brother Arab state and a flagrant violation of international laws and conventions.” They reiterated Lebanon’s solidarity with Qatar and called on the international community to act to “put an end to Israeli attacks.”
President Aoun further characterized the raids on the homes of Hamas officials as part of “Israeli aggression that demonstrates Tel Aviv’s desire to sabotage all efforts to establish stability and security in the region.”
