Israel’s airstrikes targeting Hamas leaders in Doha on Tuesday have sparked widespread regional and international condemnation. The strikes, which hit buildings hosting the Palestinian militant group, prompted strong reactions from governments and organizations worldwide.

Saudi Arabia

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman condemned the attack as a “criminal act” in a phone call with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Crown Prince reaffirmed Riyadh’s “full solidarity” with Qatar, describing the strike as a “flagrant violation of international laws and norms.”

United States

A White House official confirmed that Israel notified Washington ahead of the operation. Meanwhile, the U.S. embassy in Qatar issued a shelter-in-place order for American citizens following reports of missile strikes in the Qatari capital.

United Nations: Secretary-General António Guterres called the attack a “flagrant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He praised Doha’s constructive role in ceasefire negotiations and hostage release efforts, urging all parties to work toward a permanent halt to hostilities.

Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office described the operation as a “wholly independent Israeli operation,” asserting that Israel “initiated it, conducted it, and takes full responsibility.”

Iran

The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as a “gross violation of all international rules and regulations,” calling the attack “extremely dangerous and criminal” and a breach of Qatar’s sovereignty.

Oman

Muscat expressed “full solidarity” with Qatar, condemning Israel’s “crimes” and “betrayal,” and calling the strike “a dangerous escalation threatening regional stability.”

United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi denounced the strikes as “cowardly and blatant,” urging respect for international law.

Kuwait

The government called the attack “brutal aggression” against its “brotherly” neighbor.

Jordan

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi described the operation as “cowardly” and a “clear violation of international law.”

Pope Leo XIV

Pope Leo expressed concern over the consequences of the Israeli strikes in Qatar. “There is currently very serious news: the Israeli attack on certain Hamas leaders in Qatar. The overall situation is very grave,” he said at the papal summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, according to the ANSA news agency.
