In Amman, Lebanese athletes made history by winning five medals at the Arab Parkour Championships, further cementing Lebanon's place on the regional map in this spectacular discipline.

Lebanon made a big splash in the Jordanian capital, Amman. At the Arab Parkour Championships, the national team achieved a remarkable feat by winning five medals, including three gold. Joey Suleiman shone with two masterful titles, confirming his status as a rising star in the discipline. Angelo Elias, impressive in his agility, won a gold and a silver medal, while Elena Eid brought home a beautiful silver medal for the Lebanese team. As for Theo Khalil, he rounded off this collective performance with a silver and a bronze medal, demonstrating the depth and consistency of the team.

“This is a source of pride for us and for all of Lebanon,” said coach and delegation head Zahir Ziadé after the competition. “These young people have worked hard, they believed in their abilities, and today they are bringing home a historic result.”

Parkour: More Than a sport, an Art of Movement

Born in France in the 1980s, parkour is a sporting and artistic discipline that involves overcoming urban or natural obstacles in the fastest, most fluid and efficient way possible. Inspired by gymnastics, athletics and martial arts, it emphasizes freedom of movement and creativity. Jumps, rolls, climbs, flips and spectacular crossings are at the heart of the practice, which relies as much on technique as it does on mental strength.

In a competitive context, such as in Amman, athletes are evaluated on two criteria:

- Speed: completing a predefined course as quickly as possible.

- Freestyle: performing a series of technical and creative moves, judged on aesthetics, difficulty and originality.

Lebanon, still a novice on the international scene, is now establishing itself as a serious challenger thanks to this daring generation, trained locally but nourished by global influences.

A Delegation Greeted with Ovations Upon Its Return

Buoyed by these achievements, the Lebanese Gymnastics Union invited the sporting community and specialized media to welcome the champions at Beirut International Airport this evening at 8 PM. The heroes' return promises to be an emotional one, as these results offer a breath of optimism for Lebanese sports.

“Our athletes prove that with few resources but a lot of passion, you can reach the top,” Ziadé emphasized.

With these five medals won in Amman, Lebanon is not only shining brightly, it is entering the circle of nations that matter in parkour. What if this golden generation continues to prove itself on the world stage in the future?
