Lebanon is stepping up efforts to modernize public administration and infrastructure through artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology.

A high-level workshop held at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport brought together Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadeh, Minister of Public Works Fayez Rasamny, and their respective teams to discuss practical steps for integrating advanced technologies into government operations.

The session featured a presentation by an international consulting firm outlining strategies to streamline administrative procedures, improve citizen services, and implement smart solutions. It also highlighted AI applications in infrastructure maintenance, engineering data analysis, and public safety.

Shehadeh stressed the strategic importance of the initiative, saying, “This workshop reflects our vision to harness technology and AI in service of public institutions. Integrating AI solutions with the National Digital Infrastructure (NDI) will allow Lebanon to provide safer, more efficient services and drive sustainable public administration reforms that put citizens first.”

Rasamny emphasized the transformative potential of digital technologies for infrastructure management and urban planning. “The workshop highlighted concrete steps to modernize the Ministry of Public Works, improving services for all residents,” he said.

Officials concluded the workshop by underlining the need for coordination between ministries and the adoption of a clear roadmap to translate strategies into tangible outcomes. Embedding these initiatives into the NDI aims to deliver secure, scalable, and integrated services while supporting industrial growth and positioning Lebanon competitively in the global digital economy.
