President Joseph Aoun stressed the urgent need to reconnect Lebanon with its regional environment, highlighting the country’s ongoing reforms while acknowledging the challenges ahead.

Speaking at the Fourth Diaspora Economy Conference on Friday, Aoun emphasized that Lebanon must reclaim a productive regional role, particularly through participation in reconstruction efforts and major regional projects.

He described the conference as a genuine opportunity to build new partnerships, not only among Lebanese communities but also with Arab neighbors and international friends.

The president pointed to significant transformations reshaping the region’s economic landscape, noting massive investments in emerging sectors such as energy, green economy, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies.

He underscored Lebanon’s valuable human capital, particularly its youth, who have the potential to become key drivers of change if provided with adequate opportunities.

Aoun called for a serious economic diplomacy strategy aimed at opening employment and investment opportunities not only abroad but also within Lebanon.

He expressed hope that the conference would mark the beginning of a sustainable path to restore Lebanon’s hope and rightful standing.

“Our message is clear: this conference is a real chance to rebuild partnerships and re-establish Lebanon’s role in regional development,” he said, extending a message of “gratitude and hope” to Lebanese expatriates and praising their unwavering support for Lebanon amid years of crisis.
