The Lebanese government has launched the first phase of its plan for the return of displaced Syrians, in coordination with the General Directorate of General Security and the Syrian authorities. Initially, the return will take place through the Masnaa border crossing in the Bekaa region.

To organize the convoys heading to Syria, a gathering point has been established in the Bar Elias area, at the "Nahda Club" stadium.

This return is part of a supervised process described as voluntary, safe, and dignified. It involves several partners, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Lebanese Red Cross, and various humanitarian organizations operating on the ground.

The Lebanese plan, developed by the ministerial committee tasked with monitoring the issue of Syrian displaced persons and migrants, includes several phases. It aims to facilitate the return of a portion of the approximately 1.4 million displaced Syrians residing in Lebanon, 717,657 of whom are registered with the UNHCR.
