The new Superman movie is creating a buzz all over the world. The film is striking the American Box Office and ranking number one.

The new Superman movie, featuring new actors, is all over the place. David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced.

Ranking number one internationally, the film attracts crowds eager to see their favorite hero’s new adventures.

The plot tackles Superman, who must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these values as outdated.

The film’s opening scene starts with Krypton's destruction as Jor-El and Lara send baby Kal-El to Earth. Years later, Clark Kent discovers his heritage through a holographic message and turns into Superman. A visually spectacular battle follows as Superman faces Hammer of Boravia, engineered by Lex Luthor. Lex conquers the Fortress of Solitude, stealing Krypto and a message revealing a hidden directive: Kal-El was predestined to defeat Earth. The broadcast shakes universal trust, which leads to Superman's emotional surrender. The movie takes spectators into a well-crafted plot, as they hold their breath until the final scene, which is tinted by a humorous highlight. However, critics have mixed opinions when it comes to the main storyline, as some cite inconsistent dialogues and underwritten characters’ personalities.

Playing Superman, David Corenswet is globally complimented for conveying kindheartedness, vulnerability, sensitivity and emotional depth to the character, granting him a human feel that people can easily relate to. His strong screen presence and chemistry with Lois Lane didn’t go unnoticed. One could actually say that despite some plot imperfections, David Corenswet would be a promising candidate for the Superman DC reboot.

Still, nostalgic scenes of ancient Superman and his beloved are invading the net. People feel nostalgic for a certain period of time, when we used to look up to Superman as a hero of all times, but also, mostly, as a man, a gentleman. It might be this mix of power and charm that we’re missing nowadays. There was an undeniable dreamy feel when we used to watch the first actors who set the bar very high. While watching the scenes between Superman embodied by Tyler Hoechlin and his Lois Lane, Elizabeth Tulloch, often credited as Bitsie Tulloch, we could feel the spark, as if for once, love could really have wings.

Could humanity be a superpower? The film highlights Superman’s very rare quality nowadays: being humane. In a chaotic world where the love of power reigns and individuals compete in an endless game of control, the new Superman is an affirmation that kindness might be the ultimate superpower – not the only one – that should rule the world.
