Israeli fighter jets launched a series of intense air raids on Thursday targeting the Rihan–Jarmaq region in southern Lebanon, with the sound of explosions echoing across Marjayoun and the western Beqaa Valley. Additional strikes were reported in the al-Mahmoudiya area.
Shortly after the attacks, Israeli army Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed via a post on X that the air force had struck Hezbollah arms depots near the Litani River.
“Under the direction of the Northern Command, Air Force aircraft attacked military sites, including weapons depots and a rocket launcher, of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in southern Lebanon,” Adraee stated.
He also revealed that Israeli forces had earlier targeted a vehicle in the town of Aita al-Shaab, killing a Hezbollah operative. The man, later identified as Mustafa Mohammad Harisi, died when a drone strike hit a pickup truck in the Bint Jbeil district.
In a separate incident, another Israeli drone fired a missile at a wooded area on the outskirts of Bayt Lif. As firefighting teams arrived to battle the blaze, a second missile reportedly struck the same location, hindering their efforts and raising concerns about deliberate targeting.
On the ground, Israeli forces carried out two controlled detonations on al-Hamames Hill, while artillery units fired illumination flares over the outskirts of Khiam and its surrounding plain. Aita al-Shaab was also shelled with artillery fire.
At dawn on Thursday, Israeli ground troops breached the Lebanese border near the town of Hula, advancing nearly 800 meters into Lebanese territory. During the incursion, the force detonated an explosive device, destroying a livestock shelter near the Abad military position.
