
President Joseph Aoun returned to Beirut on Wednesday afternoon, following an official visit to Cyprus at the invitation of his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides.
The visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
He was received by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, who emphasized Lebanon’s significant role in the region and its importance to Europe. Christodoulides also underscored the deep-rooted ties between Lebanon and Cyprus and the need to expand cooperation across various sectors.
President Aoun expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the strength of the bilateral relationship, noting the shared interest in tackling common regional challenges.
Following their one-on-one meeting, the two leaders led expanded discussions between the Lebanese and Cypriot delegations, focusing on economic, security and humanitarian cooperation.
