In Qanat Bakich, high above Baskinta, engines roared and rocks trembled. For the second round of the Lebanese Rock Crawling Championship, the masters of extreme off-roading put on a show. Andy Chalhoub and Wassim Seifeddine dominated the obstacles with metronomic precision.

The national sports authority affiliated with the Automobile and Touring Club of Lebanon (ATCL), in coordination with the municipality of Baskinta, organized a rock crawling competitio, an extreme form of off-road driving reserved for 4x4 vehicles, on a specially designed course in Qanat Bakich.

This event marked the second round of the 2025 Lebanese Championship and began at 10:00 AM, culminating in the finals starting at 3:00 PM.

On terrain as rugged as it was demanding, the drivers competed with agility, technical mastery and unshakable composure. Buggy versus gravity, oil versus rock, the duel was as tough as it was spectacular.

Andy Chalhoub, Master of ‘Extreme Full Lock’

In the premier category, Extreme Full Lock, Andy Chalhoub showcased his expertise in rock crawling, outperforming AB Chalhoub—perhaps the closest to challenging him—and Nabil Jalbout, who remains a consistent force on technical terrain. The margins were razor-thin, with every maneuver potentially deciding victory or defeat.

Seifeddine Untouchable in ‘Full Lock’

In the Full Lock category, Wassim Seifeddine delivered a flawless performance. His buggy danced across the rocks as if they were mere bumps on a playground. Elie Zouein claimed second place, just ahead of Elias el-Hajj, who put in a strong showing despite a few hesitations on the steeper sections.

A Podium and a Tribute

The closing ceremony took place in the presence of Baskinta’s mayor Antoine Hraoui, municipal council member Faten Al Alam, ATCL’s motorsports director Gaby Kreiker, race director Jean Wannes and the entire organizing team. An honorary trophy was presented to Ms. Al Alam on behalf of ATCL.
