US President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of the United States joining the Israeli military operation against Iran and launching attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, according to a report published by Axios.

The website quoted sources as saying, "US officials reported that Trump is seriously considering entering the war and launching a US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, particularly the underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordow."

According to the website, Trump may make decisions regarding Iran following a meeting with his national security aides, which will be held in the White House Situation Room, a room designated for closed-door meetings.

What initially appeared to be a Plan B has since become a safety valve for Iran's nuclear program. The Fordow facility was originally built as an emergency backup for the nearby Natanz facility in case it was attacked.

This heavily fortified uranium enrichment facility is buried beneath a mountain about 32 kilometers northeast of Qom and is surrounded by air defenses.
From the outside, the naked eye can see only five rocky tunnels that penetrate the mountains, a massive support structure, and an extensive security perimeter.

The facility consists of two halls dedicated to uranium enrichment, each with an area of eighty to ninety meters, and they can accommodate sixteen cascades of centrifuges, or a total of three thousand centrifuges.

Iran's deepest nuclear facilities are immune to conventional airstrikes or known Israeli bombs.

And here is the solution that Washington holds on to as usual, which is repeated strikes with American GBU-57 armor-piercing bombs that can only be launched by the US Air Force's B-2 stealth bombers as well.

Another option for destroying the Fordow facility, or at least disabling it for a prolonged period, is to strike the external tunnels, camouflaged ventilation shafts, or the electricity grid, which would take months to restore.
