Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to arrive in Lebanon on Monday, June 2, 2025, for an official visit, according to a statement released by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He will begin his meetings in Beirut on Monday morning with a meeting with Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji.
The visit takes place at a delicate moment for Lebanon, as internal debate intensifies over the future of Hezbollah’s weapons arsenal. Araghchi’s arrival also coincides with renewed diplomatic efforts by the administration of United States President Donald Trump to forge a new nuclear agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Adding to the heightened atmosphere, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has just published a stark report revealing a significant acceleration in Iran’s undeclared nuclear activities – developments that may bring Tehran closer to the capability to produce nuclear weapons.
Araghchi’s visit is expected to draw close attention both regionally and internationally, as it unfolds against the backdrop of growing geopolitical uncertainty.
