Israel’s military “will continue to target Hezbollah positions throughout Lebanese territory,” under what it describes as an “American cover,” according to a report by the Al Arabiya news channel citing an Israeli security source.
The same source claimed that Hezbollah is attempting to rebuild its military capabilities through sophisticated smuggling operations via the airport, port and border crossings. These operations reportedly involve the transfer of equipment used in the production of drones and precision-guided missiles.
The Israeli official further stated that Israel has no intention of withdrawing from the five disputed border points as long as Hezbollah continues to strengthen its arsenal. He emphasized that strikes on Hezbollah positions across Lebanon will persist, according to the Al Arabiya report.
The source also pointed to a growing competition between the Lebanese army and Hezbollah for control over arms in sensitive areas, particularly amid troop deployments in southern Lebanon. In this context, the Israeli military reportedly conducts targeted airstrikes when the Lebanese army is unable to intervene.
Additionally, Israel is said to be providing Lebanese authorities with the coordinates of certain targets during its military operations.
