The freshly elected Board of Directors of the Automobile and Touring Club of Lebanon held its first meeting at the club’s headquarters in Kaslik to proceed with the distribution of positions.
The Automobile and Touring Club of Lebanon (ATCL) has officially turned a new page in its history on the occasion of the session for the distribution of responsibilities within the recently elected Board of Directors. Gathered at the club’s headquarters in Kaslik, the members unanimously appointed Nabil "Billy" Karam as president.
He will be assisted by Eliane Hobeiche and Serge Zouein, both named vice-presidents, while Camille Eddé was named secretary general. The position of treasurer goes to Gilbert Messihy, and Roger Zovighian was appointed auditor.
The Board is also composed of: Imad Lahoud, Patricia Trad, Bassel Azar, Assaad Mirza, Roger Achi, Josiane Sreih, Gabriel Toutounji, Clovis el-Khazen, Corinne Chaddad Stephan, Mabelle Tyan, Moussa Namour, Patrick Soumrani, Nassib Haddad, Danielle Haddad, and Carlos Chad.
A Comeback at Full Speed
This appointment also marks the return to the forefront of an emblematic figure of Lebanese motorsport, whose name echoes like an engine revving at full speed: Billy Karam.
A Champion with a Legendary Journey
Crowned eight times Lebanese champion in rally and hill climb, Billy Karam raised high the Lebanese flag on circuits and stages, both in Lebanon and abroad. A true competitor at heart, he has faced the greatest drivers, from Loeb to Solberg, and has left an indelible mark on the history of national motorsport.
Off the circuits, his commitment to passing on automobile culture through his collection makes him a passionate ambassador of the mechanical heritage worldwide.
But Billy Karam also has a unique passion for scale models. A few years ago, after rediscovering a miniature Porsche identical to the one from his rally exploits, he embarked on a parallel adventure: to rebuild, piece by piece, one of the most impressive collections of miniature cars in the world.
With more than 40,000 models displayed in a museum like no other, this passion has earned him several Guinness records and international recognition.
Billy Karam is, ultimately, a life lesson: that of a man who has managed to combine performance, memory, and passion with rare consistency.
And from now on, he takes the wheel of a club to be reinvented — at full speed.
