Tensions continue to escalate in southern Lebanon as Israeli drone strikes target locations associated with Hezbollah. On Thursday morning, an Israeli drone strike hit a motorcycle on the Naqaa road in the village of Aitaroun, killing the rider. According to the Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesperson, the strike killed “Abdul Nabi Hijazi, deputy of Hezbollah’s Muhaybib group.”
Another Israeli strike was reported in the village of Emm el-Tout, in the Tyre district. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in the same region, a sound bomb was thrown at a prefabricated house in the village of Boustan. No casualties were reported.
The escalation follows a series of strikes on Wednesday, when the Israeli army claimed responsibility for targeting what it described as “Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure” in southern Lebanon. Spokesperson Avichay Adraee accused Hezbollah of using civilian infrastructure for military purposes and “exploiting the Lebanese population as a human shield.”
Adraee stated that Israel would “continue operations aimed at preventing Hezbollah from repositioning or rebuilding its military capabilities under the cover of civilian facilities.”
