Minister of Education and Higher Education Rima Karami announced on Thursday an extension of the school year for institutions in South Lebanon and Nabatieh. The academic year in these regions had been delayed due to the security crisis caused by the war between Hezbollah and Israel.
The minister explained that the extension would help students in these areas catch up on their academic curriculum. She also confirmed that the official baccalaureate exams for high school seniors would take place in the second week of July.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Technical Education has set the start date for its official exams as July 8, 2025.
These adjustments come amid the severe impact the education sector has suffered due to the war that erupted after Hamas launched an offensive against Israel in October 2023.
