Another masterclass by the Beirut-based club, clinching a third consecutive FIBA WASL-West Asia title, with one game to go. A clear victory, a fired-up crowd and another legendary chapter added to the story of the “Yellow Castle.” Meanwhile, Sagesse salvages pride by securing a podium finish.

It was written. But it still had to be done. And Al Riyadi did it with authority. By dominating Amman United 84-66 on Saturday night, the Yellows secured their third consecutive FIBA WASL-West Asia crown. A monumental “three-peat,” etched in golden ink at Nouhad Nawfal Stadium.

Already qualified for the Final 8, Ahmad Farran’s men didn’t hold back. They took the lead from the start, widened the gap in the second and third quarters and then cruised through a final act that turned into a public celebration. The Al Riyadi machine is running at full speed. And no one seems to be able to stop it.

A Commanding Duo

In a well-oiled team, two engines stood out once again. Amir Saoud led the charge with 19 points and 5 assists, including 11 points in just the fourth quarter. He killed any suspense with a barrage of clutch shots.

Beside him, Wael Arakji dropped 15 points, mostly in the first half, laying the foundation for the win. Hayk Gyokchyan (11 pts) added to the local contribution, while Marcus Georges-Hunt (10 pts) could ease off the gas after having carried the team through earlier rounds.

A Show of Force

Al Riyadi also brought tough defense, tactical discipline and a contagious team confidence. Take that third quarter as an example, as Georges-Hunt struck hard (8 pts), pushing the lead to +15 (61-46). From there, it was just about game management.

On the other side, Amman United tried to stay alive. Jonathan Arledge (19 pts, 7 rebounds) did what he could. Amin Abu Hawwas and Hashem Abbas (13 pts each) followed suit. But the gap was too wide, and their experience too thin. “This was our first participation. We learned a lot. Hopefully, it will help us in the league,” admitted Jordanian coach Abdullah Abuqoura.

Sagesse Salvages Pride

Struggling this season, Sagesse nearly pulled off a surprise against Tabiat, before falling at the buzzer (73-75). Despite another injury to Lofton, the Greens finished on the podium and will also compete in the Final 8. A consolation prize… and a show of pride.

One More Game, and Then History…

With seven wins in as many games, Al Riyadi will face Tabiat Basketball this Sunday night at 9:45 PM, aiming for a perfect 8/8 to wrap up a flawless campaign.

“We’ve reached our goal. Tomorrow, we want to finish the job,” said coach Farran with a smile.

Eight wins, three titles, a dynasty. Al Riyadi continues to write history… in all caps. And they still have one game to go.
