A European network that has been supplying Hezbollah with equipment needed to manufacture hundreds of drones has been dismantled, French daily Le Figaro said in a report published Friday evening.
The newspaper noted that "the most significant event between the summer of 2024 and last week was the dismantling of Hezbollah's logistical support network, which included Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom."
"This network was involved in purchasing the equipment needed to manufacture drones, and all the components obtained could have enabled the manufacture of hundreds of deadly devices, perhaps as many as a thousand," it added.
The paper also noted, "On April 4, an anti-terrorism judge in Paris charged a suspect and sentenced him to prison for terrorist conspiracy. An investigation revealed that drone components had been purchased in Europe and sent to Lebanon."
It stressed that the case remained relatively secret, demonstrating, on the one hand, the cooperation of numerous European police and intelligence agencies, and, on the other, the extremely sensitive nature of the case at a time when the Middle East is in turmoil.
