An Israeli airstrike on Tuesday evening struck the al-Jawhari building in the town of Hosh Tal Safiya, west of Baalbek. No casualties were reported, as residents had evacuated the premises following an advance warning. According to local sources, the Israeli military contacted the building’s owner roughly 15 minutes before the strike, alerting him to the imminent attack and instructing all occupants to leave the area.
Shortly afterwards, the building’s owner reportedly fired a B7 shell into the air as a warning signal to nearby civilians, urging them to vacate the vicinity immediately. The building was successfully cleared before the airstrike took place. Civil Defense teams quickly arrived at the site to assess the damage and ensure there were no injuries.
Later, Israeli military Arabic-spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed the airstrike in a statement posted on the social media platform X, stating that Israeli Air Force jets had targeted “a weapons depot belonging to Hezbollah’s air defense system in the Bekaa region, deep inside Lebanon.” Adraee described the facility as a direct threat to Israel’s security, calling its presence “a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”
