Several projects are underway to improve the infrastructure and services at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BIA), with concrete measures aimed at optimizing the passenger experience.
Among the initiatives being implemented are the strengthening of cleanliness protocols, the recruitment of porters, the repair and acquisition of trolleys, as well as a reorganization of the airport-affiliated taxi service, which has frequently been criticized for its inefficiencies.
On Thursday morning, following a field visit, the Minister of Public Works, Fayez Rasamny, laid the groundwork for these reforms, emphasizing their priority. Welcoming this initiative, BIA President Kamal Nasreddine stated that significant measures are already in the implementation phase, while acknowledging that some will require more time. "The key is that the will to act is there, while we await tangible results," he said.
Mr. Nasreddine also highlighted the Minister’s commitment, noting that Mr. Rasamny plans to seek the approval of the Council of Ministers to secure funding for the necessary work to improve and modernize the airport’s services. The goal is to provide a more organized and comfortable environment for travelers.
