3. Sleiman: The "Army and People" Equation Is Key to Saving Lebanon

During a meeting at the presidential Baabda Palace with President Joseph Aoun, former President Michel Sleiman emphasized the importance of the "Army and People" equation, which he believes has been essential in preserving Lebanon’s stability.

He reflected on the significance of March 14, “a date we all know as it is the day commemorating Lebanon’s independence, when the army stood united with the people to assert their sovereignty.”

According to Sleiman, this unity “is crucial for the country's future and has prevented Lebanon from falling into the turmoil that has affected other Arab nations.”

He highlighted that, unlike other forces in the region, “the Lebanese army has always acted in service of the citizens, not any regime.”
