In Turin, Lebanese athletes have once again proven that determination and passion know no limits. Two medals, one silver and one bronze, reward their commitment and highlight the spirit of resilience that drives Lebanese sports.
After a remarkable qualification for the finals, the Lebanese athletes confirmed their talent by stepping onto the podium twice at the Special Olympics Winter Games – Turin 2025.
A Double Triumph for Lebanon
Abbas Salhab delivered an exceptional performance, finishing second in the 200-meter snowshoeing race with a time of 1:12 minutes, thus securing the silver medal. Meanwhile, Tsouline Badr el-Din crossed the finish line in 1:34 minutes, claiming a well-earned bronze medal in the same discipline in the women's category.
The head of the delegation, Mohammed Nasser, praised this achievement and dedicated these medals to the Lebanese people as well as to the President of the Lebanese Special Olympics, Akram Iskandar Safa. He emphasized the commitment and determination of the athletes, who, once again, have proudly represented Lebanon on the international stage.
A Message of Resilience and Excellence
These performances are not just a sporting victory, but also a symbol of resilience and the potential of Lebanese athletes, despite the challenges the country is facing. This success reflects Lebanon’s determination to establish itself among sporting nations and to promote the values of inclusion and perseverance through sports.
As the Games continue until March 16, the Lebanese delegation hopes to build on this momentum and deliver more outstanding performances, proving once again that talent and determination have no boundaries.
