The 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards delivered a night of celebration, camaraderie and unforgettable fashion at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. As the final major awards event before the Oscars on March 2, the evening brought together the industry’s biggest names to honor the year’s best film and television performances.

The 2025 SAG Awards honored the most outstanding performances in film and television, highlighting acting excellence in an ever-evolving industry. The night featured unforgettable red carpet moments, heartfelt speeches and bold fashion choices that captivated audiences. Organized by the Screen Actors Guild, this edition also showcased the impact of new trends and emerging talents.

A Night of Impactful Speeches and Playful Moments

The evening opened with a touch of humor and nostalgia as Kristen Bell, star of Nobody Wants This, paid tribute to her Frozen character, Anna. She performed a reworked version of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” aptly titled “Do You Want to Be an Actor?” In her lighthearted monologue, she referenced nominees like Jodie Foster, Zoe Saldaña, Kieran Culkin and Jeff Goldblum, adding throwback footage of their early careers.

The night turned poignant when Jane Fonda, at 87, took the stage for a rousing speech, celebrating her unconventional career and late resurgence in Hollywood. “We are in our documentary moment. This is it. And it’s not a rehearsal,” she declared, referencing the power of unions and the political climate. The Grace and Frankie icon left the audience inspired with her unwavering passion for activism and the arts.

Amid heartfelt moments, comedic spontaneity ruled. Kieran Culkin once again abandoned a prepared speech, joking about the weight of the trophy and taking an impromptu jab at Adrien Brody. “There’s no way anyone can hold this for 45 seconds, which is the allotted time, Adrien Brody,” he quipped, before adding, “There was no reason to take that shot. I love you.”

Another lighthearted moment came when Harrison Ford playfully stole the spotlight. As Shrinking co-star Jessica Williams shared her SAG story, Ford was caught mid-bite with a potato chip, only to remove it from his mouth upon realizing the cameras were on him. Williams laughed, “I told him to turn away!”

Red Carpet Brilliance: A Blend of Elegance and Daring Looks

With awards season winding down, Hollywood’s biggest stars used the SAG Awards red carpet as one last opportunity to impress before the Oscars. While some leaned toward classic sophistication, others took a bolder approach.

Demi Moore stunned in a black drop-waist leather gown from Bottega Veneta, while Zoe Saldaña exuded timeless elegance in a one-sleeve Saint Laurent velvet creation. Pamela Anderson embraced ethereal glamour in a flowing Dior gown, while Ariana Grande captivated in a sheer Loewe bustier dress adorned with delicate floral detailing.

The night also saw daring statements, such as Cynthia Erivo’s silver metallic Givenchy dress, a piece from the label’s Fall-Winter 1997 Haute Couture archive. Shōgun star Anna Sawai dazzled in an Armani Privé gown featuring a striking optical illusion neckline.

On the men’s side, experimental fashion reigned supreme. Andrew Scott and Tyler James Williams opted for relaxed, stylishly loose-fitting suits, while Jeremy Allen White put a wide-legged spin on classic black tie. Never one to shy away from making a statement, Timothée Chalamet donned a leather Chrome Hearts suit, a vibrant green shirt and a diamond-encrusted Cartier bolo tie.

An Evening of Reunions and Celebrations

The SAG Awards have long been a place for heartwarming reunions, and this year was no different. Kristen Bell reconnected with her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester and shared nostalgic moments with The Good Place cast, including Ted Danson and William Jackson Harper. Elsewhere, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny delighted fans with an X-Files reunion, while New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield brought back sitcom magic.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez took the stage, visibly shocked as Only Murders in the Building won Best Ensemble. “Wait, we never win,” she exclaimed, summing up the joyous energy of the evening.

As the awards season nears its grand finale, the 2025 SAG Awards once again proved to be a night of camaraderie, powerful speeches and bold fashion moments, setting the stage for the Oscars.
