Beaten badly by Egypt in their opening game, Lebanon set the record straight by outclassing the Philippines (75-54). Sharper and better organized, the men from the Cedars scored a convincing victory before facing Qatar in a decisive duel.

Beaten by Egypt in their opening game, Lebanon had no room for error. And this time, the team responded. Sharper, more aggressive and above all better organized, they outclassed the Philippines (75-54) on Saturday, the second day of the Doha International Tournament.

A One-Way Game

In contrast to their poor start against the Pharaohs, the Lebanese imposed their tempo from the very first possession. Solid on defense and inspired on attack, they rapidly extended their lead, suffocating a Philippine team unable to keep pace. The team's outside address, which had been lacking on the previous day, answered the call this time, and the team found its fluidity once again.

Bosses on the Floor

Two men stood out in particular: Gérard Hadidian and Jad Khalil, the real dynamiters of the Lebanese attack, each scored 18 points. Hadidian added 8 rebounds and an assist, while Khalil proved invaluable with a rebound and 2 assists. Karim Zenoun was also a driving force offensively with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, while Ater Majok reigned supreme in the paint with 12 rebounds and 9 points.

A Timely Awakening

After the cold shower against Egypt, this success came as a breath of fresh air. Far from the nonchalant attitude displayed in their opening game, Lebanon showed desire, fighting spirit and greater tactical rigor. A strong signal ahead of the final match of the tournament: a duel against the host country, Qatar, this Sunday at 5:00 PM.

The Cedars have proved they have character. But to validate their revival, they will have to confirm it against the Qataris. It's up to them now.
