Lebanon at the Asian Winter Games

The Lebanese Olympic Committee announced its participation in the Asian Winter Games (9th edition) in Harbin, China, from February 7 to 14, 2025. The announcement was made at a press conference at the Committee's headquarters in Hazmieh, in the presence of Committee President Pierre Jalkh, Chef de Mission Raymond Sukkar, Treasurer Khoder Moukalled and Ski Federation President Freddy Keyrouz.

Freddy Keyrouz, President of the Ski Federation, announced that the Lebanese delegation would be the largest in its history, with 17 athletes, compared to previous participations, which ranged from one to eight athletes. He also said that Lebanon would participate in five sports, which is an achievement for Lebanese winter sport.

Sports and Participants

Alpine skiing: coach Elie Salameh and athletes Serena Jallad, Ziad Chehab, Anthony Mourad and Haya Rifai.

Cross-country skiing: coach Huguette Fakhouri and athletes Marcelino Tawk, Karen Sukkar, Cyril Lazem, Samer Tawk and Glory Fakhouri.

Biathlon: coach Miroslav (Serbia) and athletes Paul Keyrouz, Jane Taouk and Elie Tawk.

Snowboard: coach Nafez Tawk and athletes Jad Tawk, Michael Ferrando, Jennifer Tawk and Lynn Abi Nader.

Climbing: Georges Wakim, the first Lebanese athlete to take part in this competition.

At the end of the conference, Dr. Jalkh announced a $100 bonus for each athlete, in support of this continental competition.
