Lisbon's streets came alive as members of the Chinese community celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year, ushering in the Year of the Wood Snake with dazzling dragon dances and vibrant festivities. The annual celebration, which blends ancient traditions with modern excitement, brought together locals and visitors alike to experience the rich culture of the Chinese zodiac.

The highlight of the day was the stunning dragon dance, a symbol of strength, prosperity, and good fortune, which weaved its way through the historic neighborhoods of Lisbon, captivating crowds along the way. Accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional Chinese drums and the clang of cymbals, the performers showcased the artistry and skill that have been passed down through generations.

2025 marks the Year of the Wood Snake, a year symbolizing wisdom, creativity, and growth. As the dragon dancers performed, the streets were filled with the vibrant colors of red and gold, the traditional colors believed to bring good luck and drive away negative energy.
