The United States and the European Union announced additional aid packages on Saturday to support Lebanon’s army and internal security forces at the conclusion of an international donor meeting.

The US State Department allocated $117 million following a virtual donor meeting "with partners and allies to discuss the essential security assistance that Lebanon needs to fully implement the cessation of hostilities with Israel."

Additionally, the EU will provide 60 million euros to support the Lebanese army’s deployment to the south over the next three years. Earlier this week, Spain also announced a separate 10 million euro aid package for Lebanon’s army.
