Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam continued his non-binding parliamentary consultations for the second consecutive day, meeting with 10 MPs. Salam is scheduled to meet with President Aoun at the Baabda Palace to update him on the outcomes of these discussions.

At the conclusion of the first round, which ended at 1 PM on Thursday, the majority of lawmakers who Salam engaged with stressed the immediate necessity of forming a new government without delay.

Independent MP Jean Talouzian, welcoming the "new phase in Lebanon," stressed the significance of halting the country's collapse.

This sentiment was echoed by MPs Oussama Saad, Charbel Massaad and Michel Daher, with Daher also expressing concerns about the brain drain.

On the other hand, MPs Jamil al-Sayyed and Jihad Samad explained the absence of the Amal-Hezbollah bloc from the consultations, attributing it to the tense security environment surrounding both the presidential election and the appointment of the prime minister.

Independent MP Ihab Matar from Tripoli mentioned that he had no specific demands regarding the government's composition but expressed hope that the new government would pay more attention to the northern region of the country.

MP Abdel Rahman Bizri from Saida reiterated that "all stakeholders must adhere to the legal texts and the Constitution."
