Now that the festive season is behind us and the situation in the country has somehow improved, most of the major artists are currently working on their respective launch plans, and many new releases have already been announced.
Among those new releases is the week’s new number one song on OLT20 “Aman” from global pop sensation Aziz Abdo who starts the year in style with yet another chart-topper! Awarded the “King of Arab Pop” in 2023, Aziz Abdo has been consistently pushing boundaries in the music industry. His global reach is evident in his collaborations with international artists and his contribution to Bollywood. From his humble beginnings as a professional footballer in Sweden to becoming a top model and a chart-topping singer, Abdo’s journey is as inspiring as his music. After scoring multiple chart-topper songs on OLT20 in 2024, this year looks as promising as ever. With his signature blend of Eastern and Western influences, Aziz Abdo continues to redefine the boundaries of Arab pop music.
From the 4 new entries on this week’s OLT20, the highest one comes from New Zealand and South Korean singer Rosé with “Toxic Till The End,” the third single from her debut studio album “Rosie” (2024). It has been described as an emo-pop and power-pop single, blending guitars and synths with emotionally raw lyrics. Rosé has recently scored pole position on OLT20 with “Apt.,” a collaboration with American singer Bruno Mars.
This week, we also want to shed light on London-based Lebanese artist Vincent J. who, after reaching the top 5 on OLT20 with “Hating on Fayrouz,” is now working on new songs that showcase his signature voice and fusion style. During the festive season, he took the stage at a fundraiser he organized in London to raise money for the Lebanese Red Cross. A rising talent, Vincent J. is stepping into the music scene with purpose and passion, building his presence one step at a time.
Finally, the biggest jump of the week comes from Canadian singer Tate McRae with “It’s OK, I’m OK,” which went from number 15 to Number 7.
