The 14th President of the Lebanese Republic is set to arrive at Baabda's Presidential Palace after a vacancy spanning over two years. Before a substantial audience comprising Lebanese, Arab, and international media, the president-elect will assume his constitutional responsibilities during a ceremonial event.
Accompanied by the army's anthem of glory, the new president will walk up to the Lebanese flag, salute it, and then enter the palace.
Subsequently, the flag will be raised over the president's residence and atop the main mast at the palace entrance. A ceremonial battalion from the Republican Guard Brigade will then march in procession before the president. In salute, the president will be welcomed with 21 rounds of artillery fire, while ships in Beirut's harbor will sound their sirens in celebration.
After these ceremonial gestures, the president will exchange greetings with Dr. Antoine Choucair, the commander of the Republican Guard Brigade, and the director-general of the presidency. Encircled by two rows of Republican Guard lances, he will proceed to the Ambassadors' Salon, where official photographs will be taken.
The President will then head to his office to receive honors such as the Lebanese Order of Merit, the Grand Sash of the Extraordinary Degree, and the Grand Necklace of the National Cedar Medal, posing for photographs while wearing the sash and necklace.
