Israeli airstrikes have intensified across Lebanon on Sunday, particularly in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Beirut

Israeli warplanes conducted consecutive airstrikes on Haret Hreik, Choueifat al-Umara and Burj al-Barajneh in the southern suburbs of Beirut in the afternoon, shortly after Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued an urgent warning for residents to evacuate targeted buildings.

Minutes after the initial airstrike on a building in Haret Hreik, an Israeli drone launched a second attack on the same site. The assault led to the destruction of the targeted building and caused damage to surrounding structures.

In a subsequent warning, Adraee urged residents of a building in Burj al-Barajneh to evacuate immediately and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters from the site.

Beqaa Valley

The Beqaa Valley has faced severe airstrikes, with a deadly attack in Baaloul resulting in the deaths of four people, including Suhmur Mayor Haidar Shahla. Bombings also struck residential areas in Zlayya and Ansar.

Earlier drone strikes in Chtoura killed one and injured two others, while more attacks targeted Qasr and Hawsh Sayyed Ali near Hermel, continuing along the Lebanese-Syrian border.

Southern Lebanon

Israeli airstrikes have struck numerous villages in southern Lebanon, including Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil and Tyre, with concentrated attacks on Khiam, Kfar Kila and Marjayoun.

In Majdal Selm, a mosque was destroyed during clashes between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli forces attempting to infiltrate near Aita al-Shaab. Residential areas near the Prophet Simon shrine in Chamaa also suffered airstrikes, leading to extensive destruction.

In Tyre, a missile struck near the Mashreq Medical Center, injuring six people, one critically, prompting swift rescue operations by the Red Cross and Civil Defense.

Further strikes were reported in Qana, Kafra and Rechknanay, alongside drone attacks on civilian targets. In Jall al-Bahr, an aerial strike demolished a building, and in Kfarra, shelling led to significant property damage.

North Lebanon

In the northern Akkar district, residents were startled by the discovery of what appeared to be a fuel tank from an Israeli aircraft on a dirt road in the Mashmash area.

This object is believed to have been discarded during Israeli operations in the Beqaa Valley and Hermel region, where Syrian surface-to-air missiles were fired at Israeli jets.

The Lebanese Army is currently investigating the find, while missile fragments have caused damage in several Akkar villages. Israeli jets also broke the sound barrier over northern Lebanon, further alarming residents, and releasing decoy flares in the process.

Hezbollah retaliation

In response, Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for rocket fire targeting Israeli soldiers at the Malkiya site and a Merkava tank in the Zar’it settlement, as well as positions in northern Israel.

Hezbollah also executed a drone attack on Israel's Ein Shemer base, damaging its defense systems. Israel responded with swift airstrikes, including a missile attack on a middle school in Qabriha and artillery shelling in Kfarchouba and Marjayoun.

Reports indicate that 55 rockets were fired from Lebanon, with some reaching Haifa, resulting in injuries.

Drones launched from Lebanon targeted Haifa and Prime Minister Netanyahu's residence in Caesarea, with one causing significant damage.

The Israeli army confirmed the interception of two drones, while the third inflicted considerable destruction.
