On this day, marking the first anniversary of the war, a new airstrike targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut this morning. Overnight, several raids hit the same southern suburbs after a call from the Israeli Army to evacuate certain neighborhoods. The strikes primarily targeted the Bourj al-Barajneh and Sainte Therese neighborhoods.

The Israeli Army stated that it had struck "targets related to Hezbollah’s intelligence services" as well as "weapons depots." Huge fireballs and smoke were seen rising, and the smoke continued to spread over the southern suburbs and the capital on Monday morning. The Sainte Therese and al-Rassoul al-Aazam hospitals are out of service following the overnight strikes.

Hezbollah

Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced in a series of statements that it had targeted the Kiryat Shmona settlement on Monday morning with a volley of rockets. It also declared having launched Fadi 1 rockets at the Carmel base south of Haifa on Sunday night. Hezbollah also claimed to have targeted the Nimra base west of Tiberias late at night with a volley of rockets and struck a gathering of soldiers near the al-Baghdadi site with another rocket barrage.

For its part, the Israeli Army announced on Monday morning the death of one of its soldiers in the fighting in Lebanon.

The Mountain

Twelve people were killed on Sunday in Israeli strikes on Kayfoun and Qmatiyeh (Aley district), according to the Ministry of Health. As for the Kayfoun strike, the ministry reported six deaths, including three children, and 13 injuries.

The Islamic Health Committee denied reports that the strike in Qmatiyeh targeted one of its centers.

The South

The spokesperson for the Israeli Army, Avichay Adraee, wrote today, Monday, in a post on his "X" account: "A call to all residents of Lebanese villages who have left their homes for their safety: Israeli Army strikes are continuing. For your safety and that of your families, do not return home until further notice."

Moreover, Adraee stated that the Galilee Division 91 began yesterday a limited and targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon

“The forces of the Galilee Division, which includes the 3rd Reserve Brigade, the 8th Reserve Brigade, and the Northern Nahal Brigade 228, began a limited and targeted ground operation in the southern Lebanon area,” he added. He also said that “meanwhile, the 769th Brigade continues its defensive operations along the border.”
