The US Embassy in Lebanon urged American citizens to prepare for potential emergencies and make plans to depart the country if necessary.
In a recent advisory, the embassy stated that several airlines have suspended or canceled flights. However, it noted that “commercial transportation options to leave Lebanon remain available.” As such, it encouraged “those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any ticket available to them.”
The embassy recommends that citizens who choose to remain in Lebanon “prepare contingency plans,” including the possibility of sheltering in a place for an extended period.
