The American University of Beirut (AUB) has recorded its highest-ever ranking in the field of medicine, rising to 135th place (out of 1398 institutions analyzed) in the QS World University Ranking (WUR) by subject 2024.
This ranking assessed AUB's performance in specific research and its reputation in its various faculties and schools. QS medicine includes biochemistry, health informatics, health policy, public health, health information management, environmental and occupational health, and all health professions.
AUB's permanent ranking among the top 150 universities in the field of medicine is highlighted by its achievements this year. Medicine achieved the highest citation score per article at 94.7 and the highest International Research Network (IRN) score at 72.1.
AUB was ranked overall in 21 subjects in the QS WUR 2024 ranking, recognized as the most comprehensive ranking, highlighting the strength of institutions worldwide while examining research and reputation.
The QS subject rankings are based on five objectives or performance indicators. These include global surveys of academics and employers conducted by QS, which assess the international reputation of institutions in each of the world's regions.
