Lebanon's Biathlon Championship, A Great Success

The Lebanese Ski and Biathlon Federation organized the 2024 Lebanese Biathlon Championship in the Cedars region, at the stadium of the Bsharri municipality, with the participation of Lebanese skiers representing federal clubs and the Lebanese Army Ski School.

This sport was launched in Lebanon in 2023, and 35 male and female athletes from different age groups participated.

For the second consecutive year, the Lebanese Federation hired Serbian coach Miroslav Siegert for three months, with the support of the municipality of Bsharri, to promote and develop this sport.

The races took place over one day, and the final standings were as follows:

Men's 4.5 km race:

First place: Paul Keyrouz (Lebanese Army Ski School)

Second place: Samer Tauk

Third place: Salim Lazem

Junior Men's 4.5 km race:

First place: Elie Charbel Tauk

Second place: Angelino Lahoud el-Khoury


Third place: Boutros Keyrouz

Women's 4.5 km race:

First place: Ciral Lazem

Second place: Jeanne d'Arc Tauk

Third place: Egat Fakhry

Junior Women's 4.5 km race:

First place: Karen Succar

Second place: Angelina Fakhry

Third place: Glory Fakhry

The race was supervised by Serbian coach Miroslav Siegert, certified by the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and the technical committee of the Lebanese Biathlon Federation (LBF).

At the end of the races, trophies and prizes were distributed by the representative of the Lebanese Army Ski School, Major George Khoury, LBF President Freddy Keyrouz, member of the Lebanese Olympic Committee and representative of the LBF at the Asian Committee Raymond Succar and the Lebanese Ski and Biathlon Federation.
