Saydet el-Jabal Calls on MPs to Act: “Lebanon’s Future Depends on It”
The Saydet el-Jabal gathering warned on Monday "against deals being made in and to the detriment of the region" in the run-up to the end of the war in Gaza. It pointed out that "Hezbollah is involved because of its links with Iran," while the presidential vacuum has lasted since October 2022.

During their weekly meeting, the Saydet el-Jabal members called on "the MPs and the living forces of Lebanon" not to exclude themselves from the geopolitical equation "by leaving the field open to the main player in the Iranian axis," namely Hezbollah. They urged them "to meet immediately inside or outside Parliament to participate in shaping Lebanon's future."

"Resolution 1701 will not be implemented, and calm will not be restored in southern Lebanon in the presence of Hezbollah," they added, challenging the pro-Iranian formation's right to negotiate on behalf of Lebanon and "in the detriment of the country's interests."

Saydet el-Jabal also expressed its "solidarity with the inhabitants of the south, who have been subjected to all kinds of violence since October 8, 2023, by an Iranian decision." In particular, it cited the exodus of inhabitants and the destruction of homes, fields, and crops before stressing that "the sufferings of the southerners are shared by all the country's inhabitants."
