The families of the victims of the August 4 explosion protested on Tuesday in front of the Palace of Justice, demanding that justice be served, as several years have passed since the port explosion and no sanctions have been imposed yet. They closed the building's gates with chains from 11 am to 2 pm, expressing their refusal to any judicial proceedings.

Simultaneously, the defense office of the families of the victims submitted a request before the Court of Cassation and appealed the decision of Judge Sabouh Sleiman, who had sought the revocation of the arrest warrant in absentia issued on September 16, 2020, against former minister Youssef Fenianos for his alleged involvement in the Beirut port explosion. The families believe that this authority falls within the jurisdiction of judicial investigator Judge Tarek Bitar.

Additionally, they requested Sleiman's withdrawal from the case. However, Judge Sleiman rejected being notified.

In a collective and unwavering commitment to justice, the families of the August 4 blast victims persisted, resolute in their unwavering pursuit of truth and closure.
