Lebanese skier Kiana Sakkal posted a respectable time in Tuesday's slalom at the Youth Olympic Winter Games in Gangwon, South Korea.
Despite fierce competition from the world champion skiers and extreme weather conditions with temperatures approaching -20 degrees Celsius, the young Lebanese skier came through with flying colors.
Despite her young age (born in 2006) and her first participation in an Olympic event, she managed to come 37th out of 80 participants in the race.
Alexander Hayek, another Lebanese athlete, will take part in the same race in the youth category this Wednesday, January 24, having prepared for the event by taking part in several international competitions.
